What is Social Justice?
For me social justice means to fight for what you want. It means unity, we will work together to achieve what we want. Like for example, when they took away our AP classes. Not all of us want or have AP classes, but we all worked together. We were all part of the sit out to get our classes back. We were united because we all have a voice and that’s what Social Justice is!
What obstacle do we face while struggling to achieve Social Justice?
The obstacle we face while struggling to achieve Social Justice is that sometimes not everyone wants to work together. Not everyone wants to be united and fight for what they want. They don’t believe they have voice that could change something. They don’t want speak up for themselves or someone else that needs help and they know it. Sometimes they just simply don’t care about what others think, they only care about themselves and their “friends.”They believe their voice isn't needed and end up not speaking up.
What is your vision to struggle?
What is your role in struggle?
I believe that my role in the struggle is to be united. To have a voice and speak up to help myself and others. To hold a stronger bond with my classmates to achieve and go on in life. To be united, like brothers and sisters, to get through the ups and downs, through the smiles and frowns, through the obstacles that we face throughout our high school years. Because together we have a stronger and louder voice!
How is your chosen issue connected to Social Justice?
Child abuse is connected with social justice because we all have a voice that can help others suffering. Being united we have a louder voice that can help those that have or are experiencing child abuse. Someone that is too scared to say something. Someone that is scared of the consequences at home if they say something. Someone that just doesn’t have the guts to say something about being mentally, sexually, or physically abused. We can be their voice and save them.
